My True Face

This is a sketch of one of my original characters, the jinbu, Ebon.

Ebon lives in the human world and spends most of his time shapechanged into one. The reason being, jinbu are consumers/predators of dangerous spiritual creatures that embody corruption, but the jinbus' own appearance is so unusual in the modern day, they either have to live in secret, or adopt a disguise. Ebon is privately very fearful of scaring away his friends that he makes on the human side, and so never allows anybody to see what he really is.

The character is sort of a metaphor for ourselves, fear of rejection, and the things that people hide from others, when in reality, friends do not mind these type of things. The character's story arc involves him overcoming this fear.
